Where does your passion lie in the automotive industry?

My main focus I'd say is trails and dunes with moderate performance. I got into it because of my uncle, he always restored cars and trucks and I wanted to build something that fit my personality and be able to say yea I'm a girl and I built that.

What advice would you have for ladies looking to get into the automotive industry?

Don't let anyone tell you no. I've been told no you couldn't do that my whole life and being bullheaded as I am I went and did it anyway.

What was it about trails and dunes that caught your attention and interest?

I've always played in trails growing up we used to always go two tracking when I was younger. I guess never knowing what's around the next turn. As far as dunes, I love the freedom and being able to run high speeds on soft sand and some day have a vehicle to launch off a dune.

What do you hope to do within the industry in the future?

Hopefully find a job managing a shop or something along those lines I'm not really sure. I want to focus on getting into a customs shop of some sort doing custom work for off road vehicles or even street rods. Learning new skills as I go and being able to live comfortably.

What would you like to see in the future of women in automotive?

I'd like to see more women get out there and learn on their vehicles. I see too many girls relying on boyfriends or father's to fix their vehicles. Someday you might need to do it yourself and it's good to have that knowledge when you get into a tight situation.

What is your dream vehicle?

Way too many to list. I'd like a classic muscle car like a Nova or Chevelle modified to drag. A diesel rat rod, and a mid 70's to mid 80's Chevy truck lifted.

What is one important thing you've learned from this industry?

It's constantly changing. Technology is taking over in good ways and bad.  Because of this, there will always be a demand for people to fix/maintain/build these vehicles for years to come.

Any other comments?

Just go get under your car/truck and learn that's what I did. That's the only way you'll ever learn is if you go get dirty.
